CERTIFICATION COURSE PROGRAM

This one week online certification course program is designed for new, beginners or emerging professional in child rights and child protection. This course is designed to equip and build the skills of beginners to confidently protect children through appropriately gained knowledge and skills which a professional needs to work with children. This course will cover below broad topics;

  • Understanding who is a child and why?
  • What are Child Rights and Protections?
  • What is Convention on the Rights of the Child? How this Convention help in creating enabling environment for children at all levels?
  • What are Child Rights Based Approaches?
  • What are types of abuse and how to respond them?
  • How to keep children safe in their environment

SHORT COURSES

GCPI experts designed one and half month long short course on below topics. This course is designed in a mixed method approach. The course is based on a participatory, experiential and adult learning approach. Participants will also learn, practice and critically review peer education approach.
This course is designed in a “virtual classroom” mode for 20 – 30 students. The pattern of the course is designed in a way to have

  • 30 hours of reading and discussion
  • Weekly webinars
  • A final writing assignment
  • Assignment based quizzes
  • Assessment of knowledge through agreed process between instructor and participants

GCPI instructors will lead the participants by providing required readings material and assignment. The instructors will also lead and guide the participants with initial baseline assessment, midterm and end term assignments. Active participation and timely submission of assignments will add additional qualification for the graduates. Instructors will also use case study method and design specific case studies to facilitate interactive learning and activities.

DIPLOMA COURSES

GCPI, based on its global work and research based child protection practices, established a faculty steering committee, and external child protection experts. GCPI offers advanced level course to help and guide expected participants in identifying relevant social, economic, legal, and cultural issues affecting the protection of children. GCPI builds research based knowledge collected by world leaders on child protection like UNICEF to review global and national policies which create impact on community, family, and individual levels for a protective environment for children.
